Options

Students can refine their curriculum at key points in their academic career. At Altwood students in Year 9 can choose some of the subjects they wish to study at GCSE and in Year 11 students can decide on the subjects they wish to study in depth in the sixth form. 

Information events will be held for students, parents and carers to support with this process. 

Year 9 Options Evening - January 15th 2026

Students will be supported to make these important decisions by their staff and also outside agencies such as Learning To Work who give impartial advice, and also events such our Careers Day and PSHE activities.
