Christian Distinctiveness
Christian Distinctiveness:
John 10:10 - Jesus said, “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.’
We are known, we are valued, we succeed.
At Altwood School, our theologically rooted Christian vision underpins the whole ethos of our community and permeates through everything we do and every decision we make.
That vision, the promise of a life lived to the full, is the engine driving all that we do.
To make something so big and so old feel real to our students, who are often navigating their own challenges and trying to find out who they are and where they belong in a complex world, meant that the vision needed to be more than one quotation. Working with different stakeholders and students we started to translate this big idea into a living reality. This meant that we condensed the vision down into a simple, powerful promise, that every single person, from students to staff, could hold on to and feel every day. That promise is made up of three simple but powerful statements:
I am known.
I am valued.
I will succeed.
The vision and values of Altwood school are about creating a true sense of belonging for our whole school community. We aim to show at our school that, when a vision is truly lived out with heart, it doesn't just hang on a wall, it can build a reality where everyone truly gets a chance to ‘live life to the full’.
