Geography

Our Intent:

At Altwood, we intend to take students on a journey through Physical and Human Geography amassing geographical skills and connections en route. We intend to inspire in our students a curiosity and fascination on how people and places formulate the world and encourage them to discover their sense of belonging on a local, national, and global scale. As Geography encompasses many “burning issues” at present for our younger generation, we intend to develop a passion and “sense of duty” within students and equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to help them live and adapt to an ever-changing world. 

Geographical skills

Demonstrate knowledge of locations, places, processes, environments, and different scales 

Demonstrate geographical understanding of concepts and how they are used in relation to places, environments and processes and the inter-relationships between places, environments, and processes 

Apply knowledge and understanding to interpret, analyse and evaluate geographical information and issues and to make judgements.
