Making a Difference

Welcome to the Sixth Form

Altwood’s Sixth Form students are committed, successful young people, who are enabled to work in a high achieving environment.  Students who are offered a place to study at Altwood invariably attain exceptionally well, with the vast majority exceeding all expectations in the light of their GCSE performance.

The ALPS report  recently reported that

“The overall value added grade for Year 13 is in the top 25% in the country”.

This is a national benchmark indicating excellent student performance which reflects the high standard and quality of teaching offered to Sixth Form students at Altwood.

Altwood welcomes into its Sixth Form all students who have shown a positive attitude towards study at GCSE and who are seeking post-16 education.  The Sixth Form is the natural progression for Year 11 students.  In choosing to join the Sixth Form you can be assured of the highest quality teaching, excellent resources and first class advice and help including dedicated teacher support when completing personal statements and UCAS applications for higher education.

We want you to study hard, make the most of the opportunities open to you and most importantly, achieve your potential.

Preparing for your future
