'A' Level Success 2011

Altwood Church of England School is absolutely thrilled to announce that for the second year in succession, our A Level students have secured a 100% pass rate. In 2008, this was the outcome, in 2010 this was the outcome and now again in 2011 we have this phenomenal achievement.

This exceptional performance is due to the excellence and hard work of our wonderful young people and the outstanding teaching and learning experience they have with the exceptionally high quality staff we have here at Altwood Church of England School.
All are to be hugely congratulated for what they have achieved together. This positions all of our Year 13 students to go on to secure their university places and we wish them the very best for their futures which, if they sustain the success they have enjoyed at A level, can only be very bright indeed.

Some exceptional individual performances were achieved as well. Our most able young person achieved A*/A grades across the board.

We are also delighted to share the success of some of our Year 12 young people who sat their Mathematics A Level one year early as they are very able mathematicians. They too gained a 100 % pass rate with one of the candidates securing an A* grade. Again, this is an incredible achievement and we are very proud of all our A Level students for what they have achieved.

In terms of our Year 12 AS Level students, performance was further improved on last year, which is an achievement in itself, and we are delighted to share that a 100% pass rates was enjoyed in the following subjects:

- English Literature
- History
- French
- Spanish
- Philosophy and Ethics
- Critical Thinking
- Business Studies
- Art
- Photography
- Media Studies
- Physical Education

Again this is due to the very impressive work and achievement of students and staff. Our Year 12 students are now extremely well positioned for next year and to continue the Altwood established trend of a 100% pass rate at A Level.

We have much to celebrate then so far this summer and are incredibly happy for our young people and their families. Well done to all!
